Samples of Organic Transformations

from the Primary Literature

Graduate Course on Organic Synthesis

at the University of California, Santa Cruz

Disclamer:

These examples have been garnered from the primary literature over years of teaching organic synthesis for a course aimed at first-year organic graduate students and advanced undergraduates, and were incorporated into either homework or exam problems.  This is in no way intended to be a comprehensive collection.  There are many, many beautiful organic transformations in elegant syntheses that are not included: no judgement is intended.

It is my hope that these problems will be useful to both students and instructors.
